Fall Fishing Tips

When it comes to fall fishing tips when it comes to freshwater you must know that the fall time is by far the best time to fish. For fish like trout, pike, and walleye you will be catching a lot of fish if you are willing to put up with fall time conditions.

Below I will try and present a few tips to help everyone when it comes to fall fishing tips.

1. At this point and time in the year fishing all day works well. The weather is cool enough that the fish do not have to hide from the heat and they are all out feeding in anticipation of winter.

2. Fishing close to shore will work well as the bait fish will be hanging out along the shores trying to get what ever heat may be left in the fall time sun. So that means the big fish will be heading into shore for feeding.

3. Fall fishing tips number three may sound a little weird at first but pay attention. Follow the birds. The birds that are flying around will be dive bombing the water to feed on the bait fish that are hanging out along the shore. Chances are good that if you follow the birds so have the fish.

4. Make sure your line is a little beefed up and dont be scared to use a leader. Many times there will be ice along the shores that will wreak havoc on your line. Also when the temperture falls below zero the eyes on your rod will start to ice up. Take the time to get the ice out or it will eventually end up snapping your line.

5. Another thing when it comes to fall fishing tips is bring along the right food for the day. You could be dealing with temperatures that are well below zero as well as temperatures that are quite high. You will need foods that keep your energy up. Hot soup in a thermos, water, granola bars, sandwhiches and stuff like nuts and beef jerky.

6. The final tip also has to do with the weather. It has to do with how you dress. Because you will be dealing with differant weather you will need to dress in layers. This way as the day gets warmer you can remove some layers and as the day gets later you can start putting the layers back on.

At the end of the day its all about fishing. If you decide to follow these fall fishing tips you will find that you will be catching a lot more fish. You can even follow your fall fishing right into fishing at night and see how your fishing world lights up.

Just always remember a bad day of fishing is always better then a good day at work.
