Fishing In Puerto Vallarta – An Essential Vacation Activity

It is said that one of the most exciting experience that you could have while on Puerto Vallarta is to experience fishing activities.

Whether it is deep sea fishing or fresh water fishing, it is said that Puerto Vallarta is a sportsman's paradise. There are established fishing fleets for the huge trophy fish and there are also boats or pangas that you can rent for the small ones.

Services of the established fleets include experienced captains, high quality gear, cleaning and filleting services and fishing license. Marlin, sailfish, dorado, snapper, blue, black, and striped marlin, sailfish, yellowfin tuna, wahoo, and grouper are among the fish species that are considered to be abundant in Puerto Vallarta's waters.

Bandares Bay considered to be the fishing ground in the area stretches 42 kilometers wide which is considered to be one of the largest bays in the world.

The Marietas Islands, El Morro, and El Faro are the go to place for bigger fish. Corbetena and El Banco is the legendary destination for the biggest fish of all. Most private charters can accommodate 6 people and you can ask them to specify which fish you would want and the number of hours of the fishing activity.

Fishing gears and baits are usually included in the package as well as well trained and English speaking crews and captain.

As a side trip, you can watch Humpback Whales while at Banderas Bay. There are also other water sports that you can enjoy in conjunction with your fishing, which includes snorkeling, diving, parasailing, swimming and jet skiing among others.

One of the most popular delicacies in Puerto Vallarta is the grilled marlin, which is served on the beach and in some taco stands. The tuna's meat is skewered and cooked using coals served with hot sauce and lime.

Among the more popular beach of Puerto Vallarta where restaurants abound and offer the delicacies are Playa Olas Altas and Playa Mismaloya.

Playa Olas Altas is the beach extends from the Cuale River South to the fishing pier. The waves of this beach are not particularly high, thus making the beach a popular place to swim among local and foreign tourists while Playa Mismaloya is the beach was featured in several scenes from Night of the Iguana and the main set was located on hillside to the South of the beach.
