Hawaii Vacation Packages: A Guide to Picking the Best Vacation Ever

2016/7/18 10:25:58

Trying to pick the best Hawaii vacation packages can feel like trying to pick the prettiest lady in a Miss Universe pageant. It’s nearly impossible. Each vacation option seems to be more attractive than the last, and you’ve got so little time! Here’s a guide to help you design the Hawaii vacation package of your dreams.

Are you looking for adventure or relaxation on your Hawaii vacation?
Although most people want a little of both, this is an important question to ask yourself because it determines the kind of vacation package you put together.

If you’re looking for adventure, you might consider taking a zipline through a rainforest, riding a bike down a volcano or taking a stab at kiteboarding. Other adventurous options include rafting or kayaking in search of sea caves and lava tubes, scuba diving down the back of an extinct volcano or hiking along a dramatic coastline boasting 200 ft drops to the sea.

If relaxation is more what you’re looking for, you might consider chartering a boat for a deep sea fishing excursion, taking in the wealth of historical and cultural education centers, touring a winery or pineapple plantation, snorkeling along the coast or simply basking on any of the numerous white-sand beaches.

Do you want to spend more time in one spot or on the move?
There’s no better way to get to know a place intimately than to spend a lot of time exploring just one island or even just one region of an island. Each Hawaiian island has a lot to offer, so there’s no concern that you’ll be bored if you opt to just hang out in one spot.

If you’re more the restless type and want to see it all, you can book a Hawaiian vacation package to scratch that itch too. There are a multitude of helicopter tours that will take you around every island – over the volcanoes and around the coast – allowing you to get a bird’s eye view of the “big picture.”

Do you want bustling nightlife or laid-back quiet?
Each island has its urban centers where you can find all night eateries and clubs, but you’ll be hard pressed to find anything open after 8 outside of the cities. This is great if you’re looking for a Hawaii vacation package that takes you away from it all, but if you want to have a larger diversity of entertainment options, stick closer to the city.

Do you want lush rainforest or sunny beaches?
In general, the east side of every Hawaiian island is covered in lush, tropical rainforest. It’s here that you’ll find the waterfalls, songbirds and lush undergrowth that houses so much of Hawaii’s ecological diversity.

The west side of the islands is generally where you’ll find the post-card beaches and all-day sunny weather that you may be craving if you’re coming from somewhere cold.

Of course, there are many other things to consider when planning your perfect Hawaiian vacation, but these taking these factors into consideration will give you a good start in the right direction. Just remember, no matter which Hawaii vacation packages you book, you’ll want to do it early – it is a popular destination, after all.
