How to Choose the Right Lure Size for Bass Fishing

2016/7/18 10:29:59

The process of choosing the right lure size for bass fishing is one of great importance, and one that you should definitely not rush through. If you don’t choose the right lure size for bass fishing, you are no doubt going to end up having problems, namely the lure will keep falling off the rig if one is oversized to the other.

You can basically make sure that you pick the right lure size for bass fishing by choosing knowing what a fish sees.

How to do it

Of all the different bass fishing techniques a person could learn, this is definitely one that is going to play a most pivotal role. First you want to consider a fish’s vision. You have to figure that they are not going to be seeing what you see, on top of the water, but instead only what is underneath which is their view.

The size of whatever is moving is going to have to be large enough to catch their attention but then at the same time you don’t want it to be so big that it is going to scare the fish off. You really want to stick with a happy medium and make sure that you are going to get the right sized lure.

Now another tip to help when you are trying to choose the right lure size for bass fishing is to consider reflected light. This is a step that many fishermen make a mistake and forget, so keep it in mind to have the most success here. Most fish have shiny scales on their sides, and the game fish use that shine to figure out when they are in a good position to strike.

So you want to make sure that any lure you use is going to have a bit of shine on it but not too much that the fish is going to be warned and scared off.

These are all important things to take into consideration when you are trying to decide on the right lure size for bass fishing, and so you really want to get out there and not only get your lure but all the other pieces of equipment that you are going to need before heading out on the water. Getting a strong, weather repellant tackle box is going to be very important to ensure that all your equipment and lures are going to be kept safe.
