Shark Fishing - Hunting The Worlds Most Dangerous Animals

How much of a sportsman are you? Do you love to fish? Do you want to add some excitement to fishing? Try fishing for sharks. These monsters of the deep can put up quite the fight when being pulled in.

The size and type of shark that is being fished really determines where the fishing will take place from. This is really a physical sport and requires upper body strength to wrestle them out of the water, a shark will dive to the deepest part of the ocean that it can reach and often time will wind up snapping the line that it was hooked by or snapping the rod that was used to reel it in.

When you are going shark fishing, you're going up against some giants of the deep. So you will have to buy special rods and lines. The typical rod and line will not handle a shark well. You need to get an eighty pound test line at the very least, and use a fifty pound class wide reel.

If you want to fish for sharks, you'll need a few special tools and items. A fighting belt and harness gets strapped to the fishermen and to the boat of pier that they are fishing off of, the fighting belt and harness keeps the fishermen from being pulled off the boat by the shark and dragged to their death.

You will need a gaff hook because, even though most sharks are caught and released, some can be brought in during competitions. You will want to get a flying gaff hook to reel in a thrashing shark on board your watercraft. Be extra careful when using them as they have been known to fly back and hit the fisherman who is wielding them.

Tail ropes are also needed for shark fishing, the tail rope is used to drag the shark and drown them. Harpoon dart setups can also be a part of the tackle and is actually safer than the gaff hook.
