Understanding the Catfish
Catfish are one of the most aggressive fish you're ever going to come across. They're also very unique in the fact that they can live in just about any type of water. Catfish love places that have structures, either man-made or natural.

They prefer logs, tress, underwater vegetation and caves. This can make fishing for them quite challenging even to the most experienced fishermen.

Since catfish prefer to live in places with less visibility, they rely mainly on their sense of smell to get food. They do use their eyes like other fish but rely more on their sense of smell, especially ones that live in waters with very poor visibility. They like to feed on small fish, worms, crayfish and some vegetation.

Knowing these things about the catfish will help you better understand where you can find them when you get to your fishing spot. Finding the right place to fish is very important and knowing what to entice them with is also important. When possible, using their natural food source is a good idea. This isn't always practical however, and sometimes you have to use other types of baits to get them to bite.
