When people visit the Florida everglades for the first time, their initial thought might be nothing but swampland. But the fact is the Florida Everglades is one of the most jaw dropping wildlife scenery, and to most bass fishermen that have been there, is there favorite place to fish for bass.

You will see that the Everglades is more than just bass fishing though, with the thousands of species of fish it is home too, along with many other animals that you will not find anywhere else in the United States.

Because of the size of the everglades, and the amount of alligators that populates it, a bass guide might be a good suggestion for the first time visiting angler. There are thousands of miles of canals and over a million acres of land, that would take a lifetime to find the hottest bass holes.

You will also have to take into consideration, that if you choose to get a guide you will not have to purchase a freshwater fishing license, you can just use the guides commercial license. On top of that you are almost guaranteed to hook up with what ever kind of bass you are looking for, as fishing guides find fish for people every day for a living. Plus a Florida fishing license for someone that is out of state can be a bit pricey.

The expert Florida everglades fisherman will be able to cast and hook up with a 10 pound plus largemouth bass often. Not only are the waters of the Everglades filled up with largemouth bass, but are also home to a great variety of peacock bass at the same time, they do not get as big as the largemouth but they will put up a good fight for their size.

Some may want to even keep a bass or two to hang on their wall if they are big enough, or trophy size. Just please help preserve the wildlife of the greatest park on the planet, bass fishing is a sport, make it in your best interest to release safely what you do not plan to take home.

The Florida Everglades can get real hot during the day, and depending on what part you are fishing in, you can get attacked by thousands of mosquitoes. So make sure that you pack plenty of sunscreen and mosquito repellent, sunglasses and hats are also encouraged to help keep the sun from draining you.
