Small Bass Fishing Boat – It’s All in the Mind

Aye, aye, aye, it is said it is all in the mind of the owner of the small bass fishing boat, that the thoughts of owning a bigger ship is all they can dream of when the fish are not biting. Slugging away at the stash at the bottom of the hull, which is filled with boxes or crates of fine whiskey or sherry to keep the body warm while on the murky, blackish, eerie waters of the night; with the moon just glimmering on the flat waters now and then giving you a hint of what may lay behind you at the shore. The air is misty around the small bass fishing boat, and the night is still, just a few small splashes of waves against the hull, otherwise nothing. This may not quite be the case of cabin fever, but pure solitude on the open waters of the night, absolute tranquility.

Dream Boat?

With the rods cast overboard, the small bass fishing boat may seem like the idyllic dream boat, but there is only so much place for the crew and the catch, and of course the stash, oh and don’t forget the rescue equipment tucked in there somewhere. The rods have been cast, after being bated with just the right kind of food and lure from the bass fishing tackle box, for the perfect bass to be caught.

Silent Night

You wait nearly all night solo, with your silent night as company and your whisky to keep you warm waiting for the fish to bite, then as you doze off from boredom, the small bass fishing boat is tugged and rocking from side to side, rocking you awake instead of more asleep, you stumbling to grab hold of the rod to reel the catch of the night in. Relaxing the gut and reeling it in again and again, you finally do have a single catch for the night, the perfect bass for the single man’s meal. You realize that it was not the size of your small bass fishing boat that caused you only to catch one fish; it was whether the fish were running or not that night. It’s just another night gone by, with another healthy meal on the table.

After taking the hook from the bass you caught, homeward bound is where you are heading. You fleck the fish in the morning while it is still fresh, and thankful for another meal on your table, the gods have blessed you and your small boat again while encouraging you to return to the dark murky food filled waters the following night.
