The Problems of a Fishing Bait and how you can Solve It During your Fishing Trip

The very first thing you should learn is how to choose and handle the bait. There are smaller ones which are cheaper. But if you buy these baits, such as pilchards and use them to catch larger fish, then be prepared to see it ripped to shreds. Fish such as the herring are quite aggressive and shall all but eat the whole bait. Also, sometimes the bait shall become unusable after a while due to waterlogging. If these stay in the water for too long, they get too soggy to function. The weight shall drag the line down, limiting your ability to fish. One of the best ways to solve the problem is to use salted baits. Many companies sell salted varieties. You can also salt the baits such as pilchards easily. This is done so that the item becomes tough due to the drawing off of moisture. Additionally, it also saves the bait from wear and tear and therefore increases its life.

Another way to solve the problem is to use very thin cotton as bait. These are easily available at any store which sells fishing supplies. Ghost cotton is a great alternative as it can be wrapped easily around any of the baits, making it tighter and more firms. This will protect the item from getting carried off by the larger fish and also protects it against the continuous impact of water.

One of the tips, which is most important, is seldom told by the experts. You can have all the expertise and the best fishing equipment in the world, but if you do not find a suitable spot your efforts shall be in vain. This greatly increases your chances of getting a good catch. Pay attention to the beach, which changes yearly. Of course, you may not understand that it is changing, because the sand looks the same! However, the thing which changes is the wind, the tide and the marine life under the water. Sandbars and their positions on the beaches really influence where the fish comes. It is also responsible for dictating which types of fish come, since some arrive in shallow waters while others prefer to remain in the deeper waters. If you wish to go fishing on the beach in the daytime, come and recce the beach early in the morning, which shall tell you a lot about where you should stand. And if you wish to fish in the evening, recce in the afternoon.

The next tip is natural, and flows from the previous one. If you are going to a recee, or even while fishing on an Overnight Offshore Fishing trip, you require your eyes to be protected at all times against the glare of the sun. So get a pair of Polaroid glasses! These cut off the reflection from the water and thereby enable you to see everything clearly. These have the added advantage of letting you know the change in the color of water, so that you know they your prey is nearby.
