Monkfish Habitat: Where Do These Deep-Sea Creatures Live?

Monkfish can be found in shallow waters close to the coast as well as in the deep sea. They can be found in the Atlantic Ocean from Norway and Iceland to Guinea, including the Mediterranean and Black seas. They can also be found in the waters off Namibia and South Africa. Monkfish are also found in the north-west and mid-west Pacific Oceans from the Sea of Japan and Korea southwards to the southern part of China and north of the Philippines and Taiwan.
