Behind the Scenes: Fly Fishing the Ditch Pickle Classic on Lake Champlain

A couple weeks ago I had the privilege of joining F&S fishing editor Joe Cermele and famous Delaware River guide Joe Demalderis, who I’ve always wanted to hang out with, in Vermont for a Hook Shots episode on Lake Champlain. I won’t give the episode away (it will air in a few weeks) but we were there to fish the Ditch Pickle Classic - a Fly Fishing only “bass” tournament. 

We were armed with a pile of gaudy flies, a golf bag full of rods and Joe’s Clackacraft with a 6hp engine on the back. You can figure out how quickly that got us around the massive lake. Enjoy the slides and stay tuned for the episode.
