Stingray Hunting & Venom: How They Kill Their Prey

Stinger: Stingrays have a barbed stinger on their tail that they use to inject venom into prey and defend themselves. The venom isn't fatal to humans, but can be painful and cause severe injuries and can even be fatal in rare cases.

Hunting Technique: Stingrays are ambush predators that bury themselves in the sand, waiting for unsuspecting prey to come close. When the prey is near enough, they swiftly strike with their barbed tail. The venom quickly paralyzes or kills the prey, making it easy for the stingray to consume it.
