Week 3 Report - March 2012

2016/7/18 14:11:38

Offshore conditions were windy, a little rough with some passing storms. Those that found a window or put in the time and braved the seas found some good fishing. On the troll, dorado were in 110-600 feet (usually under the birds and flotsam) with kingfish , blackfin tuna and wahoo in 120-350 feet. On the reefs and wrecks, yellowtail and mutton snapper, kingfish, Spanish mackerel, cobia, occasional sailfish and small dorado were in the mix.

Near shore along the beaches and on the piers, Spanish mackerel, pompano, bluefish, blue runners, cobia, snook, snappers and jacks were biting well. In the inlets and ICW  tarpon were around and snook were around the docks and bridges, along with snapper and jacks. The darkside bite was best for hooking up with snook.

In the freshwater canals and local lakes, bass were hitting large shiners and topwater and spinner baits were producing good early morning results.
If your heading out watch for changing conditions and don?t forget your PFD?s don?t work if you don?t wear them.

Wishing all, Tight Lines and Screaming Drags!!!!
Stay Salty My Friends!!!!
