Catfish Storage Guide: How Long Does Raw Catfish Last?

Freezer: 3 to 6 Months

Raw catfish should be stored in the refrigerator for up to 2 days. If you plan on storing the catfish for longer than 2 days, it should be placed in the freezer for up to 6 months.

When thawing frozen catfish, it is best to do so in the refrigerator overnight. Frozen catfish can also be thawed by placing it in a bowl of cold water for several hours. Never thaw catfish at room temperature.

Once the catfish is thawed, it should be cooked immediately. Do not refreeze raw catfish that has been previously frozen and thawed.
