BLUE FISH

2016/7/18 15:29:57

This Blue Fish gave a great fight. I caught it at Middle Beach Peir in Englewood Florida about 10 o clock am at the out going tide. The water there was about 2 to 8 feet deep in certain spots, and the wind was very smooth, with sunny skies. I kept casting way out there for about 30 min in one spot, then it happened, the fish was on my line, and took me about 5 min. to bring him in. The lure I was using was a 3/8oz. DOA chartruse jig head, with a DOA CAL rootbeer/chartruse shad tail. I also use a 1/4oz. DOA chartruse jig head in very shallow water. I've also caught Blues on live Pilchards (green backs) 3 to 4 inches in lenght. I can go to Sharkys Pier in Venice and net a hundred or so green backs at a time with my 6 foot net, that is, when they are there. And I've also caught Blues right off of the sharkys Pier as well. Before I put my lure on, I used 30lb test sufix moss green braided line, using SEAGUAR 100% FLUOROCARBON 30lb test leader line about 3 feet in length. Note: This fish was 19 inches long and weighed about 5 lbs. It was may 2011. SO GOOD LUCK AND HAPPY FISHING.
