Golf Tips - Develop a Pre-Shot Routine

The first tee can be an intimidating and nervous experience. Welcome to the human race. That is why you must have a pre-shot routine. This helps you prepare your mind and body for what you are about to do. The better focused you are, the less other things will bother you. This may sound redundant, but be consistent in your pre-shot routine. After completing your pre-shot routine, you must focus on your swing thought. When your swing is working properly, your swing thought will be target-oriented, either swinging through your intermediate target or visualizing the shape of your shot and where you want it to land, enabling your body to recreate the shot. When your swing is not working properly, your swing thought may need to be related to a feel that will enable your body to create the shot. For example, if the clubface is open (ball slicing), feel sooner hand rotation.
