Simple Tips For Best Golf Grips

2016/7/20 16:09:19

The common problem that both beginners & seasoned players face playing golf is the right way of holding and swinging the golf club to result in a good stroke. Opinions on this matter used to vary a lot. Basic rules say that proper placement of hands on the golf club helps one control the position of the clubface to maximize its impact. The way of holding a golf club at the time of swing clearly has a huge impact on the movement of the ball. The actual gripping of the golf club is vital to one’s success in the interesting game of golf. The more one knows about golf grips, the better strokes he/she can make and start enjoying it. Though perfect golf grips can’t guarantee that you win, they will make you feel relaxed at the sight of the ball moving across the golf course.
Sound golf grips are recommended to help the golfer create ultimate power and feel simultaneously. A loose grip of the club in the palms of the hands enhances wrist action which is the main power source. Holding the golf club more in the fingers rather than in the palms brings an increment in the wrist hinge which gives rise to more feel and longer tee shots.
Weak lead-hand golf grips that remain too much in the palm are one of the most common mistakes made by golfers. Here are some useful tips on golf grips which will help the player hold the club properly to induce both power and accuracy.
Simple Tips on Best Golf Grips:
First of all make sure that the golf club is handled with your right hand. Keep your left hand hanging down from the shoulder. It’s better to turn your left hand slightly inwards towards your body in order to achieve best golf grips. (Obviously, if you are left handed, do the opposite!)
In the second step bring forward your left hand from its hanging position and place it above the right hand on the golf club grip. The shaft of the club should move diagonally downwards from the thick pad section of the palm. Moving it about 6mm from the base of the index finger to the middle joint of the index finger is generally considered ideal for good golf grips.
The best golf grips can be formed by taking all your left hand figures together. You should keep the golf club loose and avoid applying extra pressure on the golf grip. The top of the golf grip is the place where your thumb should be placed slightly towards the centre. Try to avoid pushing the left thumb towards the bottom of the club grip.
If you are a right handed golfer then bring back your right hand from its normal position and place your club in between the right hand fingers. Create a grip around the club from the right thumb and index finger. Put the little finger on the groove created from the first & second fingers of the left hand.
You can also consider using fine quality golf grip powder for improved grip performance. The golf grip powder is nothing but a kind of thermoplastic product that helps create a strong grip thereby bonding your fingers and hands together. It is easily washable but sweat and water resistant and can last for hours. Thus you can reduce slipping and better control your hold on grips through golf grip powder.
