How To Knock 5 Strokes Off Your Next Game Of Golf

Having some trouble on the old golf course? Looking to get a better golf game? Use the following tips to knock at least 5 strokes off of your next game of golf.

1. Work all the kinks out first.

What this basically means is that if you slice the ball left or right from time to time then you need to spend some more hours on the driving range straightening your shot out. Before you go out you should make sure that you know how to correct your problems... Watch videos online, read golf books by golf experts; do this first so that you know how to fix whatever problems you have.

2. Are you getting enough short game practice?

In order to take 5 strokes off of your next game of golf it is important to have your putting game 'down pat'. Also, let's not forget chipping; getting good at this can also shave a few shots off your game.

3. Are your clubs top of the line, or ancient history?

You'd be surprised how much a new set of clubs can help out your golf game; both mentally and physically. The trick is to get a club that has the right feel... You don't always have to look for the golf club that's been made by NASA; regular clubs work fine, just make sure they feel right when you line up to take a swing.

4. Know the lay of the land...

You don't always have to play at a new golf course in order to challenge yourself. Getting good at one particular course can be just as beneficial to your golf game especially when just starting out. Get good at one particular course and then start jumping to different courses to test your skills.

5. A little workout won't kill ya'.

It doesn't take long to realize that some of the best golf players in the world are in great or at least good shape... I know there are exceptions to the rule but for the most part, a little weight training or a few push ups never hurt anybody. Have you ever seen Tiger Wood's arms? Did you know he can dunk a basketball? My point is he's in good shape; it does have some effect on your golf game.

Alright, I could give you golf tips all day until I'm blue in the face but the only thing that's really going to get you any better is to actually go out there and start swinging some iron. So get out there, practice hard, tweak your game, stay persistent, and before you know it you'll be taking off 5 or more strokes from your golf game with relative ease.
