Golf Tips and Questions

Ever feel frustrated by your golf game?

Well, you are most definitely not alone.

You should be really asking yourself these questions (and give honest answers).

Have I been actively taking steps to improve my golf game?

Do I constantly play, practice and learn with an open mind and confidence?

What more can I do to improve my body for golf?

Am I tracking enough of my rounds to judge my weak points?

Do I have a tailored fitness regimen that pays special attention to certain muscle groups needed for the golf swing?

Do I exercise enough or at all?Being truthful when answering these questions will get you started on the right track to getting better in golf physically and mentally and will in turn get your scores lower.

Hunter Mayan, the winner at the Accenture World Match play Championship, consistently follows these three golf tips still from when he was a junior golfer and a college player.

The 3 Magic Golf Tips: Commitment, Discipline, and Dedication.

Commitment:

It is crucial to commit yourself to a long term development for golf and an exercise program. Committing yourself demonstrates that you believe the program will be beneficial. It is also a imperative you become accountable, to yourself! Write your commitment and set of goals in a workout journal or notepad. Make the commitment a reality by following a specific course of action towards your ideal goals for best results.

Discipline:

Excuses will be there, but try not to use them all the time. Once you have a specific golf fitness exercise plan for example, then follow it as best as you can. When I provide my junior golfers and adults their off-course program, I expect them them to keep to their side of the deal. I put my effort into the program, tailoring it to suit them. Years of application and study go into the programs I write, so they do not have to do the guess work and can learn skills and long-term development for golf. If I have provided a practice schedule along with some workouts too these must be abided by.

Everyone has days when exercise is not at the top of their list of favorable activities, but this is what will set you miles ahead of the pack. All the golf tips in the world will do little, it is your discipline that will produce the consistency and improvement you are looking for in your game.

Dedication:

When the going gets tough, keep reminding yourself of your goals. You will no doubt have life challenges along the way, which prevent you from following plans. Remember though that the main difference between those who are successful and those who are not usually comes back to golf tips dedication, with the exercise program and long-term development incorporated into the golf play.

Of course there are outside stressors such as work, school, friends and so on, but knowing that you are consistently following some sort of golf development program on and off the course will give you the best chance of success. Despite reading and learning all the best golf tips, your best golf doesn't happen over night. It is essential to stick with your golf practice and golf fitness program, even if the results are not immediate.Become healthy, fit and strong by making exercise a part of developing your golf game.

A decrease in your handicap, better scores in junior golf tournaments, confidence and consistency will prove that your commitment, discipline and dedication to practice, monitoring your play and exercise were well worth it.Til next time,Coach Alex
