Mount Everest Vegetation: A Look at Plant Life at High Altitude
The vegetation on Mount Everest is sparse due to the harsh climate. The lower slopes of the mountain have temperate forests of birch, hemlock, fir, and spruce. Rhododendron and juniper trees are also found at these altitudes. The middle slopes have alpine meadows with wildflowers such as edelweiss, gentians, and forget-me-nots. The upper slopes are mostly barren rock and ice.
