Best binoculars for watching motorsport events

2016/7/27 16:41:56

People who love motorsports know for sure that in most cases they will be spending time in some hot, humid or crowded environment when compared to all other forms of sports spectating. One only needs to look at the crowded stands on TV when people are watching Formula One events anywhere in the world. When this is the case, you want to enhance your enjoyment of the event by choosing the right pair of binoculars; you need to take a few special considerations to ensure you get a pair that performs to your satisfaction and will last long. While different binocular brands may have their small differences, there are important features you should always look out for when choosing sporting binoculars.

A rugged exterior: When it comes to watching motorsport, binoculars with a rugged exterior is perhaps that first thing you are going to consider. Most motorsport events are usually jam packed with spectators jostling and pushing with hands that are loaded with foods and snacks. In most cases your binoculars will almost always get knocked to the ground accidentally or by an overzealous spectator nearby. If you are going to stay in such a place for some time, there is no way you can afford going with a delicate pair of binoculars. A rugged binocular should have some rubber armor that will give it a form of protection from drops and falls; the armor also makes it easy to grip especially when your hands are likely to sweat. Don't forget to look for waterproofing since drinks could accidentally spill on your binoculars.

Compact binoculars: The next thing you want to ensure is that you have a compact pair of binoculars that is easy to carry around. A small pair is preferable to a large pair that is hard to manage in a crowded environment. You of course realize that motorsport is not comparable to watching something on TV; you need to move around constantly so as to get a nice position so you can catch all the action. A compact binocular is easier to use than a large one that is so heavy you get too tired before the action is over. Binoculars with lenses sized 32mm to 42mm are preferable.

A broad field of view: The next thing you need to get concerned about is the magnification; don't always assume that the higher the magnification the better because this is not always true. A higher magnification may give you a closer view, something that doesn't work too well for high speed sports such as motorsport. While at the beginning you could enjoy seeing the drivers faces, the vehicles will zoom past too fast you won't enjoy the experience.
