So, you're contemplating a headlong dive in the air for a long long time but either you could not make time for it or you're still too nervous. Tandem skydive: You won't be alone in your first escapade. Every skydiver kick-start their experience with tandem skydiving. You will be tied to an experienced instructor who would be guiding you right from the plane till you land. So, even if you feel uncomfortable in the middle of the act, you will be taken care.

Forget your miseries: Once you overcome the fear then get ready to bid farewell to depression and welcome ecstasy. You won't get enough of it till you get tired. The entire scenic beauty is absolutely mind refreshing and sometimes more effective than so called anti-depressants like chocolates, beer or parties.

Look out for special offers: Some good things in life come with a price but you can always bank on discounts and special offers if you're falling short of cash. You'll get a variety of categories to choose from.

  • Generally, a tandem skydive (14000 to 18000 feet) ranges anything between $240 to $320. But, a few organizations give special discounts. The skydiving prices then drop down as low as $139. Internet reservation charges may vary.
  • There's separate package for videos/photo session during the act. Generally, it ranges between $70-75.
  • Look out for various categories of jumps. Charges for Experienced Jumper, HOP n POP, Gear Rental per jump ranges between $15 to $25.
  • Hop n pop jumps are the most affordable ones. "Hop n pops" means deployment of parachute as soon as you jump from the airplane.
  • Once, you are eligible for an ‘A license' certificate by the skydiving schools or organizations, you would be game for too many jumps at a time. Special packages are tailored for such bulk reservations as well.    

 Do not forget

To carry a jumpsuit. You will be offered a customary jumpsuit from the skydiving school itself but you can always carry one for more comfort or just-in-case kind of situation. You can also opt for a tee and a comfortable pair of trousers.

–To look out for the weather. If it's too cloudy then its better you avoid the jump for the day.

–You are supposed to register beforehand. So, it's highly recommendable that you reach on time or better still, before time.

–Watch a few tutorial videos to get a hang of it and then decide whether you're really prepared for the adventure or not. Don't drag yourself just for the sake of doing it.

–Do a proper background check on the organizations or schools you're going to opt for. Make sure they are certified by USPA and abide by the norms and directives as well.
