Quick Review On Nightforce NXS 5.5-22x50

Keen to please my cousin who is in the US military force, I tried to brush up my knowledge on Nightforce NXS Scope as I had always remained a passionate shooter and loved reading reviews of riflescopes. I was aware of the long-ranging night scopes available in the market and had for long toyed with the idea of buying a mil dot scope. Providing a wide range and broad magnification, the Nightforce 5.5 22x50 NXS Scope is considered as one of the most advanced field tactical scope. It was originally conceived for instances of long-ranging shootouts and tough target interdiction particularly undertaken by the US  military, Nightforce NXS Scope offers a range of magnification and internal adjustment that permits most .50 BMGs to achieve an accuracy of 2,000 yard. Though this riflescope is not too light, weighing almost 31 ounce, it has a streamline body 15.1 inch long. With a mounting length of 6.1 inch, this riflescope can be easily adapted to a wide range of mounting systems.

Fascinated at reading a Nightforce NXS 5.5-22x50 review, I visited the dealer of Nightforce riflescopes who is located nearest to the city where I reside and decided to take a first-hand knowledge. Fortunately, the dealer, an ex-army man, showed me his own possession of a Nightforce 5.5 22x50 NXS Scope. Peering through the 50mm glass objective lens, I realized that the scope was  easy viewing. Along with a large field-of-view, it provides a four-inch eye relief. Its superb resolution at high magnification brings forth a completely new world of extended range shooting for the accomplished marksman. The MOAR reticle has a floating centre crosshair. Providing an exact aiming point, it is two MOA wide and two MOA tall. With a 20 MOA scale below the centre, the MOAR reticle offers one-MOA elevation and windage spacing. Intrigued by the term crosshair I delved a bit deeper in my research. Later confirmed by my cousin, I found that earlier actual strands of hair were used in the interior of the scope housing. Later, at the time of the Vietnam war, wire was used instead of hair and solder was used on the wire to make the markings. With advancements in optical technology, manufacturers can etch any design on the glass and this is how we have the mil-dot scope.

The Nightforce 5.5 22x50 NXS Scope offers MLR™, MIL-DOT, MOAR™, MOAR-T™ reticles. Illumination of the reticule is standard. The illuminated reticle proves very helpful particularly at night. An illuminated reticule on a glass scope actually works better than looking into the green glow of a night vision scope. I came to know from the dealer whom I had visited that the Zero Stop technology, demonstrated in the NightForce 5.5-22x50mm NXS Tactical Scope, was designed at the request of Tier One US military forces. The Zero Stop technology allows you to return to your last count which you had reached at a particular elevation. This unique feature makes this scope different from other brands available in the market.
