Deer hunting has become one of the most popular outdoor sports for both men and women across the world. The whitetail deer hunting, in particular, attract hunters from various parts of the world to the hunting zones. 1. Archery season begins before the gun season, generally. But the season can continue even after the gun season is over. This is the time when the hunters can use various other kinds of weapons like the recurve bows, compound bows and arrows. In addition there are primitive longbows and recurve which can also be employed. The crossbows, however, can be used only quite late after the deer season. Also, the hunters are not allowed to keep arrows on the crossbow string when the legal hunting hours are over and the hunters are still on the field.

2. The second in line is the firearm season. So what kinds of firearms can you use during this season? Handguns, rifles, shotguns, pistols, muzzle loading guns and handguns. There is a minimum calibre or gauge limit set by the various states.  Rimfire and centrefire rifles cannot exceed a certain range due to ethical reasons. The hunters are allowed to carry more than one firearm into the hunting field. Handguns are, however, banned in military areas.

3. The muzzleloading season is when you are allowed to use the muzzleloaders only. Both bullet and powder muzzleloading firearm can be loaded.
