My Best Five Accessories For Hunting

Have had a heavy dose of one of Pursuit Channel's hunting shows called "Backland Experiences," and I thought that it would be good to write about the top five best hunting accessories based on what I've learned so far. I've specifically selected these 5 incredible tools because they're cool and have a very practical use for hunters.

1. H.S. Butt Out 2 Big Game Dressing Tool

One of my favorite hunter gear, it helps hunters gut out the game that they've just harvest (i.e. deer) and cut the meat into proper sizes for food. Some hunters, who have tried it for the first time, say that they never knew how essential the H.S. Butt Out 2 Big Game Dressing Tool until they tried it. All of who tried this hunting accessory have been using it ever since.

2. CRKT Kommer 2-Shot Skinner

Second on my list is the CRKT Kommer 2-Shot Skinner hunting knife. It is a rare quality knife that's good for skinning, field-dressing and butchering a deer or other game and trust me when I say that you'll be taking it with you every time you go out to harvest a game. The blaze-orange handle makes it easy to find no matter what kind of environment you're in and this knife can be re-sharpened easily so it doesn't lose its edge over time. It's cheap too!

3. Eastman Outdoors Grip & Rip Tool

My top third hunter gear would be the Eastman Outdoors Grip & Rip Tool. When hunting animals out on the backlands such as a deer or a larger game, this is the kind of tool that you'd want to bring with you. There are plenty of reasons that makes this an essential tool and one is that the locking mechanism will hold slippery hide of a freshly-killed whitetail tight while you work; and the unique vice lets you clamp down on it. You'll be extra thankful with these pair of pliers as you won't have to hurt or dirty your hands, fingers and knuckles. You can also reposition the pliers using the quick-release hasp.

4. GSM Cyclops Micro LED Hat Clip Light

This hunting accessory is excellent for a fresh and foggy morning hunt. You can easily clip it on to your hat and with 5 LED array, your peripheral vision will have optimal visibility for up to 10 feet or more. It's bright enough to illuminate your path but not too bright to scare away your prey when hunting animals.

5. Bushnell Trophy Cam Trail Camera

Upon signing for a hunting association in your area, the government will issue hunting tags to new applicants. After that you will get an orientation which will include hunting lessons. Perhaps you may already have learned a thing or two about hunting before you even sign up as a backland hunter, but the most important thing you need to learn is scouting. Scouting allows you to track your prey weeks and sometimes even months before you go out hunting animals. Before trail cams were invented scouting was such a pain in the neck as it would take endless hours to track animals.

Today you can do it remotely, thanks to the Bushnell Trophy Cam Trail Camera you don't have to go out every day to scout. The cam has a replaceable SD card that records everything it sees and you can swap it every 10 days. At least you won't have to mess up the animal's trail each time you go out to check their movements and it lets you calculate when and where they'll go next.
