Redfield Revenge Accu-Ranger Reticles: Rangefinder Plus BDC for Affordable Price

Every hunter knows that game is not going to wait forever while you preparing your shot. However you still need to find comfortable position for the shot, determine the distance using laser rangefinder or your experience, choose appropriate holdover point or in the worse case - adjust your elevation dial. Finally you are ready to make your shot but game is already gone and you have to start from beginning. Many hunters have been in such situation.

Redfield have resolved this problem. They have invented Accu-Ranger reticle in their Revenge series that determines distance to the target and the best part is that your eye is on it all the time, so you will not lose it.

Right now you are probably thinking: "Oh, right, another reticle with laser rangefinder. You are not going to impress me with that!" However this reticle does not use a laser rangefinder to determine the distance. This makes scopes with Revenge Accu-Ranger reticle much affordable. The price is just slightly higher than for the scopes with regular ballistic reticle.

You'll end up getting a rifle scope with the ballistic reticle and range estimation ability for a very affordable price.

How does this reticle determine the distance without a laser rangefinder? It is quite simple. There are hash marks on higher vertical post, so called brackets. All you need to do is to turn magnification ring while an animal's body appears just between one of this bracket and center crosshair. There is another horizontal line that moves along vertical post while you are "bracketing" the game.

Vertical post has numbers from 2 to 6 that refers to 200, 300, 400, 500 and 600 yards. When you got your animal between that bracket and center of your reticle, simply look at the upper horizontal line. If it has stopped at number 3 then it means that your game is 300 yards away. Now all you need to do - is to use the right aiming point for holdover.

If it sounds complicated or too time consuming I assure you that everything is very simple and you can do it within a few seconds.

Accu-Ranger is an amazing reticle that goes with the reliable, durable and accurate Redfield Revenge scopes.

Of course Redfield takes care of all hunters from crossbow to varmint. There are four types of Accu-Ranger reticle: Crossbow, Hunter, Sabot ML and Varmint.

All four reticles have brackets for 16" and 25" targets. Varmint reticle has an additional 8" bracket. The 8" bracket is designed for prairie dog and other varmints of similar sizes. The 16" bracket will be proper for a deer, while 25" bracket is designed for elk and coyotes.

Accu-Ranger Crossbow is designed to meet all requirements of crossbow hunters. This reticle is a unique model within Accu-Ranger Ballistic series. Unlike the other three reticles it has holdover points for the distance of 20 to 60 yards and its numbers on the vertical post refer to these ranges.

Revenge Accu-Ranger Crossbow can be used with the cartridges with the variety of velocities. At the low magnification this reticle works well using the cartridges with velocities of 250 fps. At the higher magnification it will be good for arrows or bolts with the velocities of 425 fps.

The only scope available with Accu-Ranger Crossbow reticle is Redfield Revenge 2-7x34mm.

Accu-Ranger Hunter reticle is designed for the deer, elk and coyote hunting. This reticle gives you the ability to estimate the distance to the target up to 600 yards away and has holdover points for the same range. The center of this reticle is calibrated for 200 yards.

This reticle will work great with the most common hunter cartridges with velocities between 2900 fps and 3800 fps. It works with the following cartridges: , .22-250 Rem, .243 Win, .25-06 Rem, .270 Win, .270 WSM, .280 Rem, 7mm Rem Mag, .30-06 Springfield, .300 Win Mag, .300 WSM, .338 Win Mag, .338 RUM.

Hunter reticle is available in Redfield Revenge 3-9x42, 3-9x52 and 4-12x42.

Accu-Ranger Sabot ML reticle is designed for muzzleloaders and shotguns. This reticle has the range estimation ability at the distance up to 600 yards for the deer (16" bracket), elk and coyotes (25" bracket). However holdover points are designed for 150, 200, 250 and 300 yards. Sabot ML is zeroed at 100 yards.

Accu-Ranger Sabot ML reticle can be tuned for the cartridges with the most velocities. At the high magnification this reticle works well with 45 caliber (250 grain) plastic tipped bullet with speed of 2200 fps.

Redfield Revenge 3-9x42 comes with Sabot ML reticle.

Accu-Ranger Varmint reticle has an additional 8" bracket for the small game and designed for the most flat shooting cartridges with bullet speed of 3100-4000 fps. This reticle has 16" and 25" as well, so you can use it for big game hunting.

Varmint reticle has same estimation range and holdover points as Hunter reticle (up to 600 yards). The difference is in the cartridges that you can use. Revenge Accu-Ranger Varmint works well with the following calibers: .17 Rem, .223 Rem, .222 Rem, .22-250 Rem, .220 Swift, .223 Swift, .223 WSSM, .243 Win, .25-06 Rem, .270 Win, .270 WSM, .270 Weatherby,  7mm Rem Mag, .300 Win Mag.

Varmint reticle is available in Redfield Revenge 4-12x42 and 6-18x44.

The only drawback of this reticle is that it works for particular animals. However you can use Revenge Accu-Ranger to determine the distance to the objects of similar size.

As you can see Redfield Accu-Ranger is very simple in use. This reticle is reliable and accurate. Considering that Revenge's scopes price ranges between $139.99 and $249.99 you'll get a fantastic deal.
