Scuba diving is an extremely popular activity, especially for those people who live near bodies of water such as seas and oceans. There is a specific scuba diving gear that you need have before you get into this diving activity. If you are planning to go for scuba diving to find out if you like it or not, you need take training lessons where you will be guided on all the diving equipment. However, it is a good thing if you are well aware about it beforehand. Many people may ask what the most important piece of scuba equipment is. The answer is that all of them are extremely important when you go diving deep into the water. When you are entering a water body that the human body wasn't designed to go into on its own, it is not wront to say that each piece of scuba diving equipment is more important than another. You need all of them in the best form to make sure that you have a safe and pleasurable experience.

The simplest part of a scuba gear is the bodysuit whose main purpose is to help to keep your body warm. Other items are simple such as the scuba mask which allows you to see clearly underwater, and also the fins which allow you to propel yourself properly without any difficulty. However the fins are used only if the diver wishes to dive beyond 30 feet. You also need a buoyancy compensator when you going to take a dive deep into the blue. It looks like a vest in appearance and it is worn so that the diver can swim to the surface with ease when he wishes to do so.

The scuba regulator is that piece of equipment that makes it possible for you to breathe while scuba diving. Its function is to control the pressure of the air coming from your scuba tanks, making it suitable for breathing. Along with this, it also adjusts the pressure of the air as you dive deep into the blue. This makes sure that you are always receiving air at the atmospheric pressure which is required for your lungs to be able to inflate. You will also need an air tank for your diving experience and that is generally made of steel or aluminium. These tanks have meters on them which not only record the time spent under water but also keep a track of the depth.

It is wise to carry a dive knife when going deep into the water as a safety precaution. This is because the underwater creatures are not used to human presence in their vicinity. In case they attack, you should be ready to face it and take the necessary measures.
