Best Scuba Diving Spots in the Philippines

2016/7/26 14:16:12

Scuba diving is something of an eye opener for many people. The sights and sounds of the underwater world are so unique that many first time divers forget the time and like to linger. The Philippines is actually one of the best scuba diving spots in the world which is not as crowded as those in other countries.

Bohol

One of the best scuba diving sites in the Philippines is the island of Bohol. It is just a short plane ride from the capital of Manila and filled with resorts that cater to scuba divers. The best scuba diving in Bohol is found in Panglao Island. It is an island extension of the main island of Bohol with powdery, white sand beaches and reefs for all levels of scuba divers. Basically, the resorts know which dive sites are the best for scuba diving and also for snorkeling. Almost anywhere in the island can be rated as best scuba diving spots since it is literally surrounded by rich marine life.

Palawan

Palawan is another best scuba diving destination in the Philippines due to the islands diverse and rich marine life. Busuanga is an island tagged as a game reserve and wildlife sanctuary. Scuba divers will not be disappointed by the sights that await them in this part of the Philippines. There are around twelve sizeable ship wrecks in the area which makes for excellent scuba diving. Palawan can be reached by plane from the capital of Manila. The trip takes a little more than an hour but the place is grand.

Palawan is home to Tubbataha Reef which is one of the most beautiful dive spots in the world. This is included as one of the best diving spots in the world because of its remoteness and access to the open ocean. This area is usually for live aboard diving and is a National Marine Park sanctuary as well as part of the UNESCO world heritage site. These are part of the reasons why divers are restricted from just coming and going in this best diving spot without proper authorization and going through the right channels for bookings. Diving is limited from the end of the month of March up to June due to concerns about the weather.

These are just a few of the best diving spot choices in the Philippines. There are more to choose from since the archipelago is made up of about 7,100 islands.
