What to Look for on Scuba Diving Vacations

2016/7/26 14:16:48

If you have never gone scuba diving before then a very organized scuba diving vacation may be just what you need. Scuba diving vacations are usually run by very qualified, and partially insane, scuba people that will take you to places on your scuba diving vacations that people should just not be going to. But if you have your heart set on one or many scuba diving vacations in your future then there a few things you should be looking out for when you are planning your scuba diving vacations and when you actually start hitting the water.

The first thing you want to find out before you book any of your scuba diving vacations is if the scuba diving people you are booking with are fully qualified not only to scuba dive on their own but also to escort people that have no scuba experience. Scuba diving is just like flying a plane in that you need a certain amount of hours of training before you are considered ready to try it on your own and then you need experience before they will let you have the lives of other unqualified people in your hands. That is why when you are looking up scuba diving vacations always ask a lot of questions about the qualifications of the people that are running the scuba company. Make sure you ask them what they did to get certified and do your own research to find out as much as you can. Remember that a lot can go wrong on any scuba diving vacation so be sure that the people you are entrusting your life to know what they are doing.

Sh-Sh-Sh-Shark!

Many people have phobias and one of my phobias is large bodies of water so the chances that I will be going on a scuba diving vacation any time soon are pretty slim, but if you plan on going on one make sure you find out where the scuba company plans on taking you to dive. If it is a known area for predators then be certain to bring this minor fact up in your next conversation with the fine scuba folk. Predators in the ocean can move a lot faster than you can with all of your scuba gear on and your lack of experience in diving. So if one gets its sights set on you then that could be trouble. Now if you are one of those people that takes one of those scuba diving vacations specifically to swim with the sharks then you best be careful and be warned that you get out of life what you put into it.

Make sure the scuba company has a nice boat. This may seem like an insignificant detail but a nice boat just makes the trip, and your vacation, that much nicer. An old fishing boat that still smells like rotten fish will probably cause your vacation to take a turn downward. So give your vacation a chance right off the bat and make sure that your scuba company has a really nice boat.
