Your Very Own Scuba Diving Lesson

2016/7/26 14:17:07

Good morning and welcome to your very own scuba diving lesson. My name is Mr. Sinkwell and I will be your instructor for this class. When I give a scuba diving lesson I do expect complete attention because these lessons are very important because if you go scuba diving without paying attention to your scuba diving lesson then the potential for disaster is very high. I would also ask that you make sure that if you have any questions that you raise your hand and since this is a written piece and not an interactive piece I will have no idea if you have raised your hand. Still, raising your hand if you have a question is a good idea in general and will help you in things other than scuba diving lesson. But for now scuba diving lesson is our focus so let’s get started.

The first thing we will do is get familiar with some of our equipment. You will be wearing a wetsuit which is designed to protect against the cold water temperatures. You will be wearing a mask which is to keep the water from your eyes so you can see where you are going. You will be wearing an air tank on your back which is connected to a mouthpiece called a regulator by way of an air hose. Without this apparatus you will drown so please use it. You will also be wearing fins which is what you will use to glide along with the greatest of ease through the water. Okay this ends the first part of our scuba diving lesson so let’s move on to some safety tips.

The Things You Do And The Things You Don’t Do

Any good scuba diving lesson is going to include a short list of the things you can do and the things you cannot do. Among the list of the things you can do is to take your time and go slow. Going too fast can cause your equipment to fail and potentially cause you physical harm so always go slow. You can look around and see the sights under the water. That is the whole reason for scuba diving is to see the sights under water. Well, that and to retrieve cars that drunks drive into lakes. You can listen to everything your instructor tells you especially while you are under water. It is important to be aware at all times of your instructions.

You cannot touch anything without first asking permission. Much of the coral you will see is very sharp and some of the fish can be poisonous or otherwise dangerous. So ask before you touch. You cannot wander off on your own because scuba diving as a team is the safest way to do it. You cannot take your mask off, or your regulator out of your mouth, for any reason unless specifically instructed by your professional. Finally you cannot get your equipment deposit back so do not ask.

We hope you enjoyed this scuba diving lesson and we hope to see you back real soon.
