Scuba diving enthusiasts around the world enjoy pristine natural beauty while exploring undersea. With proper scuba diving lights, the undersea world can be savored at any time of day or night and at any reachable depth. Several different types of scuba diving lights are available to suit the needs of any diver. Novice and expert divers alike can choose from a myriad of lights designed to suit requirements of anything from nighttime exploring to investigating shipwrecks. Models are also available for the sole purpose of underwater photography and videography. Many reputable companies manufacture reliable quality lights. Dive Rite lights, Pelican dive lights and Big Blue dive lights are produced by respectable companies that deliver high quality state-of-the art equipment.

Dive Rite lights are trusted by many divers. The RX2 slimline LED is the most advanced lighting system available in the line. The system utilizes an intelligent microprocessor control unit that enables the light to function at a level of maximum efficiency at 880 lumens and has a system designed to keep the unit from overheating. The RX2 sidemount LED features a longer cord that is placed at a 70 degree angle at the top of the canister. This allows the diver to tank or butt mount, which provides extra flexibility when using the light in either hand or scootering. It also has a light output of 880 lumens. Both models are outfitted with battery state-of-charge monitoring, low battery indication at turn on, temperature monitoring for device protection and OFF-HIGH-LOW selection via rotary switch.

Pelican dive lights come in seven different models. The lights produced by this manufacturer are more compact and resemble a common flashlight. All Pelican dive lights are approved for extreme sport dives. The Nemo 1900 features a Xenon light source, has an output of 11 lumens and has a run time of 1.5 hours. The Nemo 1960 LED puts out 24 lumens for up to 3 hours. An output of 53 lumens is achieved by the Nemo 2000 Xenon with life of 5 hours. The Nemo 2010 LED has an output of 109 lumens for up to 32 hours. An output of 45 lumens and run time of 3.45 hours is reached by the Nemo 2400 Xenon light. The Nemo 240 LED has a light output of 126 lumens for up to 7.5 hours. Lastly, 175 lumen output for 6 hours is featured with the Nemo 4300 Xenon light.

Big Blue dive lights offers a much greater selection of lights than Dive Rite and Pelican. The AL 1X5 features an amazing 250 lumens for 2.5 hours which can be attached to a glove for hands-free diving. The FF 4X5 contains an AFO or auto-flash-off function that allows the main light to be off for one second allowing the strobe to illuminate a photographic subject leaving the light spot out of the picture. Big Blue also offers two technical lights at 900 and 1500 lumens respectively. The company has a wide selection of recreational use dive lights and lights used for underwater photography and videography.

The dive light market offers a myriad of choices for the hobbyist or professional. Research can help divers to find the product that best suits his or her need.
