What To Pack On A Scuba Diving Trip Abroad?

Are you a scuba diver or at least a snorkeling enthusiast? If you are keen to widen your experiences in these underwater sports then keep reading. We have some scuba diving and snorkeling news for you about equipment.

No doubt snorkeling and scuba diving are obviously much more entertaining once you are able to find the best diving sites out there. What’s considered the best? It often depends on personal preferences, some like the Great Barrier Reef while others head to the Arctic Ocean. Follow some active diving clubs and their diving and snorkeling news to find the latest hot spots.

Once you have decided where to go, you can consider what to take with you. If you are heading to popular diving destinations, the diving equipment can be rented from your diving location. Normally anything can be rented from swim fins to masks spear guns and underwater vehiclesetc. Those, who have their own diving equipment often, want to carry quite a bit of their own equipment with them. Unless, you are traveling to a destination where you know they don’t have any rental places, you can definitely leave your tanks and weighs at home. The list of what to take can really be as long as you want. It’s understandable that a familiar kit makes the dives more enjoyable. If you decide to take your own weight-belt webbing, you should make sure it then matches with the weights available at the location. Remember to check this. The last thing you want is to not be able to drop their weights when you are deep underwater and an emergency occurs.

When you are packing your underwater equipment make sure that you do it very carefully. A good way to protect your regulator is to put a dive boot over the 1st and 2nd stages of it. Make sure that the regulator is not right next to the edge of your suitcase. The same goes with your mask. You don’t want to break them on the way to your holiday destination.

Also make sure you are traveling with comfortable sized luggage. Even if they’re heavy, you’re luggage should be easy to carry, drag or pull around. Dive destinations are often further away from the international airports, so there can be quite a travel before you even get there. And do not forget about good travel insurance, it can save you a lot of money if something goes missing or brakes while abroad.

If you don’t have your own equipment or there is no way to take them with you, then try and find rental equipment that is as close to the ones you have gotten used to. If you own bare equipment then try and find them to rent. If you’ve always dove with Camaro equipment then rent Camaro if possible. And the same goes with Beuchat equipment for example, which by the way is the world’s oldest diving Equipment Company, and probably the most popular brand to find from Thailand.
