Diving In Phuket - The Perfect Mix of Adventure & Nature

Phuket is the largest island in Thailand. It is a popular tourist area and receives over 3 million visitors every year, placing it in the top 50 most visited places in the world. One of the main draws of Phuket is its dive sites. You will find dozens of dive centers on the island and be able to enjoy fun and exciting dive sites nearby. Here are some fantastic dive sites you can visit: 

•    Hin Muang –Ideal for all diver levels, Hin Muang is home to leopard sharks, clownfish, and tropical. It features a limestone pinnacle with pink and purple soft corals. Its name translates to Shark Rock. 

•    King Cruiser Wreck – This artificial reef is the result of the sinking of the King Cruiser in the late 90's. All passengers on the boat were rescued. Now, the King Cruiser Wreck is a great spot to find fusiliers, tuna, jacks, and barracuda. Advanced divers, as well as supervised beginners, can explore the wreckage. 

•    Koh Tachai – This Island is home to both soft and hard corals. It is more suitable for advanced divers, who look for receiving moderate to string currents. Koh Tachai is a great place to spot Leopard sharks as well as schools of batfish and barracuda.

 •    Phi Phi Island – Ideal for beginners, the limestone island has sea fans as well as soft and hard corals. It has moderate currents and is home to octopi. 

•    Koh Bon – Close to the Similan Islands, this area has soft pastel-colored corals and is a good spot to watch for manta rays and whale sharks. 

If you want to avoid the high tourist season, avoid go to Phuket from November to April. The peak season is from December to January, as a lot of people are on holiday. Phuket only has two seasons, but it's okay to dive all year long as the water temperature ranges around 27 to 30 degrees Celsius. Even during the rainy season, it is still safe to dive, as downpours don't last more than 2 hours. For the best visibility under water, visit Phuket from November to April.
