Why White Appears Dark at 150m Underwater: Ocean Depth & Light Absorption

At 150 meters below the ocean, the color white appears dark blue or even black. As sunlight penetrates the ocean's surface, its components, such as red, orange, and yellow, are absorbed and scattered by water molecules and particles, gradually reducing their visibility. Blue light, however, has shorter wavelengths that allow it to penetrate deeper into the water column, making blue appear as the dominant color at those depths.
