Practice bowling swing

I want to ask you i have been looking at dick ritgers old bowling videos and explains take a practice swing before throwing the ball in today modern bowling i never seen showing this technique in any bowling videos on you tube or dvd is this out of date coaching and not shown any more.I find his teachings very interesting.

Not sure if I understand your question. When Ritger suggested a practice swing, what was the intent?

In my experience with a couple program's that I've attended, Ritger sought to free the swing, allowing gravity and momentum to be the primary forces in driving the ball off the hand and forward down the lane. I think you'll find gems of technique from just about every coach you work with, read or watch. Your personal skills might benefit or you might be negatively effected by any one technique or idea.

Ritger's classes were a great wealth of technique, information and drills for me personally. It is about how you bowl and how you want to bowl. You won't seek out Jason Belmonte unless you want info on bowling two handed! Some ideas work because they suit your game, some may not because they don't.
