Understanding Ball Roll: Determining Effective Angle for Pocket Entry
Question
How or What do you look for or at to determine if the ball has what they call "rolled out" before pocket entry?
Answer
Id,
Watch the ball as it hits the pins. If (as a right hander - I'm assuming) the ball hits the 1 3 pocket and deflects right, away from the 5 pin, it has rolled out and doesn't have enough angle on the pocket to be effective.
Roll out isn't terrible if the ball rolls out at the correct angle to the pocket. Your ball should skid through the front part of the lane, begin to hook in the mid-lane then go into a roll (roll out) as it finishes the path through the pins.
Thanks for your question. Good luck and good bowling.
