ball drillin

Question
Im looking at the momentum swing i want to get max length with strong back-end. the ball i seen has a 3-4 pin placement am i going to be able to drill it the way i want with that setup. i got a Columbia 300 U2 that has a track just to right of the fingers and thumb. i got about 16 mph speed with med rpms i guess

Answer
Robert,
A Momentum Swing will do a lot more than a U2. Why a duller ball?

Anything dull, even if it's smooth, will start sooner than a pearl finished at the same grit surface. 16mph and med revs won't help get the ball down the lane much. You might want to consider the Sharp NoiZe or Cool NoiZe with some polish???

You need a ball for the way the lanes steer your shot. If lanes are dry the ball will start up (rolling) earlier. If oily, your ball will skid further. Observe other players. See what kind of equipment they use (especially anyone rolling your speed or rev rate).

Getting any kind of read of the lanes with a 15-17 year old urethane ball isn't giving you a good idea what a newer reactive ball will do.

Taking a stronger ball and trying to get it to push way down lane is asking a lot. If your ball speed won't get it down the lane, if there's not enough oil, a layout won't help enough. Drilling the guts out of a strong ball just seems to be a waste. If you need less ball, buy less ball. I hope I've answered your question. Good luck and good bowling.
