Football sophmore year?

i have never played on a real team but i am am good at every sport except swimming and want to play football this year I'm "5,8" 150 pounds  I'm fast strong can catch and can hit hard i just cant tackle very good what is high school football like and what position should i play?

I will tell you what I tell everybody. Only you can tell me what position you want to play. I recommend that you buy "PLAY FOOTBALL THE NFL WAY" by Tom Bass. The book covers the techniques needed for all the positions on a football team. It cost about $20.00 but the information contained within is priceless. The book is full of pictures and diagrams that can be helpful. I suggest that you look at all the positions, what you would need to learn, and then pick one.
