Football for Women

Question
Hi,

I am considering trying out for a women's football team this fall and I need a bit of help. I'm kinda athletic already, but I'd like to do all I can to get ready for the tryouts. I'm not quite sure what all is involved in a tryout. Also, I'd like to know what I can do to get ready, workout wise. I  am about 5'8, 200lbs (you wouldn't believe it if you saw me though), I bench about 185 (in reps, not max), deadlift 135, can squat about 180 (on a smith) and leg press up to 10 plates (5&5). Please let me know what I can do around agility and endurance.

Thanks!

Answer
Well the first thing that I would suggest is running.  Football is a game of endurance and toughness.  It is hard to be tough when you a gasping for air.  So if I were you I would start running 1 mile a day.  At least 4 to 5 days a week.  On all off days I would encourage you to run sprints, and lift weights.  Also be sure to stretch each and every day before lifting or running.  Being in top physical shape will give you a definant edge over your fellow competitors.  GOOD LUCK COACH NOEL!
