Goalie Skates - Arch Pain

2016/7/16 9:38:10

Question
I recently purchased new goalie skates for my son - Bauer XIV I believe. The pro shop measured his feet and baked the skates to his size. Now he's saying that the arch pain in one foot is very painful. Thanks!

Answer
Hi Bob, this seems to be a pretty common problem. I have run into this personally on more than one occasion.

My best guess would be that they aren't broken in yet. They are probably still very stiff. A few days on the ice usually takes care of it. If not, what I have always done is purchased new insoles. Dr. Scholls gel style inserts or something similar. That's always done the trick for me anyway.

Hope that helps, let me know if you need anything else.

Joe
