flanker or halfback

Question
hey im ashley and im 145cm tall and im 45 kgs. i currently am playing blindside flanker for my schools U13 A team. i am one of the better players in my team and have got alot of credit for my job as flanker but i was wondering if i should move into halfback. i can tackle really well i can run and i m=am strong and my passing is pretty good. i want to make the move because i guess the other boys will get bigger and bigger and being on the frontline all the time is going to get harder. i prefer flanker but i want to make the first XV for my school and i would think being smaller i would have more of a chance at halfbaack.

thanks

Answer
Hi Ashley

I advise you stay at flanker and get game time. After practice work on your half back pass and kicking. Make it know to your coaches you are doing this.

If you are a great flanker who can also play half back you have better chance of making the squad than a player who does one or the other.

Don't worry so much about size at 12 - 13 you are only 60% of your mature size. Focus on game time and getting picked for the team you are in now.
