Question
hey I'm 16 and i weigh about 60kg and I'm about 5,10/11 and I've been playing rugby for my school since year 7 and I've always played winger but I'm not that fast, i like the sound of flanker but I'm not sure if I'm skilled enough to play there also i would like to play some where like center or fly half but i don't know what position i would be any good at.

Answer
Hi Sam
I always beleive that you should choose a position with these two things in mind:

1. What position do YOU enjoy the most?

2. What position on your team will get you the most game time?

Playing a position you hate defeats the point of playing rugby. The key is to figure out why you hate a position - if you just need to get better or fitter it is not the positions falt it is yours.

Playing a position you love but that is over populated in your team could see you getting no game time. I have seen many wanna-be flankers turn to be hookers just to get more game time.

You need to work on your fitness first and foremost. do that and with the other skills / talents you have you will have a better chance of playing the position you want.
