Kickball Force Out: Definition, Rules & How It Works
In kickball, a force out occurs when a defensive player catches a ball kicked by an offensive player in the air before the offensive player reaches first base. The out happens whether the ball is caught behind the offensive player or directly in front of them. Once the ball is caught in fair territory, the kicking team player out and all other runners must return to their original bases if they have advanced due to the kick. If the ball is caught in foul territory, then all players remain safe.
