Coed Slow Pitch Softball: Rules for Walks, Base Advancement & Runner Movement
Question
My question is about official ASA rules pertaining to when a man is walked? For instance pitch count, does he get second, and does the women walk, or does she have an option, also does the # of outs, or pitch count effect this rule. Last question: when is the baserunner allowed to leave the base?
Thank you for your help.

Answer
Hi Roger,
In coed if a male walks they are awarded 2nd base (by way of 1st)
If there are less than 2 outs the female must bat
if there are 2 outs the female has the choice of batting or taking 1st base.
In SP the runner can leave the base when the pitch reaches hp or is batted.
