Michigan High School Softball: Varsity to JV Player Transfers
Question
Tom,
If an underclassman makes the Varsity team can she be dropped down to the Jr. Varsity team during that years playing season?
Thank You,
Keith
Answer
Keith,
Here in Michigan, that would not be a problem. A player is limited by rules on how many games she can play per year and per season. They can not play a JV game and a Varsity game on the same day.
I am sure things can vary a bit state by state. This really isn't a softball rules question as much as it is a state association rules question. Have your school AD check with your state high school athletic association for a definitive answer for your state.
