pinch hitting

Question
in a local asa league, teams can elect to "bat everyone present" and have free substitutions in the field, or bat only 10 and have direct 1 for 1 substitutions in the field and batting order.  the local rule for players arriving late is they are to be added to the end of the batting order.

a team arrives with 13 players and elects to bat everyone, during the 5th inning a 14th player arrives.  does the 14th player HAVE to be added at the end of the batting order and can he pinch hit and remove that person completely from the game.

i realize this invovles local league rules, but i think the questions boils down to is pinch hitting legal in asa?

thanks

Answer
Hi Steve,

In ASA sp play you can bat 10 or 11.  If you start w/ 10 you cannot later add an 11th.  Either way you can always legally sub a player in for any batter's position(if you have some on the bench).

A player subbed for can re-enter once they are not removed from the game
