Question
Can a team video a teams signs. Also how dose it work when a batter bats out of order. Does the team have a out charged to them and does the next batter which is the one out of order come back to bat.

Answer
Hi Jim,

I'll answer your 2nd question 1st.

When a out of order batter is discovered while at bat either by the offense or the defense the batter that is supposed to be batting simply take their place with any count already on.  Any runner advancing during that time is legal.  In effect there is no penalty.

It is always in the best interest of the defense if they do not report an out of order batter until they complete their bat.

If it is discovered after the batter completes their turn at bat and before the next legal or illegal pitch...
1) the batter who should have batted is out
2) any advance of runners or runs scored is nullified
3) all out(s) made stand
4) the next batter is the one who follows the batter who should have batted except if the incorrect batter is put out and follows the batter who should have batted, we skip that player and the batter who follows the incorrect batter bats.

If a pitch is thrown to another batter after an incorrect batter the effect is everything that happened is now legal.

"Can a team video a teams signs"
I've never had this question but I cannot imagine in amateur softball (or even pro, remember the NE Patriots)that someone would want to do  this.  It is in my opinion that it is extremely unsportmanslike and as a tournament UIC I would use my authority (along with the Tournament director) to stop it if I believed it was happening.
