are there left handed catchers in womens college softball and if so who and where?

Hello Bill,
Jamie Dotson who caught for Northwestern last season was a left-handed catcher and I have seen a couple this season. Unfortunately, I don't recall which teams I was watching when I noticed it, but they do exist. So to answer part of your question, yes, they are out there, but I'm not sure who or which team. I did find an interesting article you might enjoy if you have a child or player that you are considering making into a left-handed catcher. It was written with baseball in mind, but a lot of the arguments hold true for softball as well. Here is the link to the article:
