Throw down to 2nd question

Question
My daughter is the Varsity catcher for her H.S. softball team.  She had a question about throwing down to 2nd.  If there is a batter in the batter's box and she needs to throw to 2nd for an out, can she physically move the batter out of the way to throw around them?

Answer
Hi Brandi,

Mike and I are attempting to catch up on the pool questions,

A batter in the batter's box cannot hinder the catcher attempting to execute a play, if they do we have interference.  We also have to realize that this play happens quickly and the batter cannot simply disappear.

Tell your daughter to make her play and let the umpire call the game.
