Little League Rules: Bunted Ball & Dropped Bat - Is the Batter Out?

Question
if a bunted ball is in far territory and the batter drops her bat and hits the ball in the field of play is the batter out in little league rules

Answer
Hello Stacey

I really don抰 know what the Little League rules are but here is the ASA rule as I remember it.

If the bunted ball is fair and the bat is dropped and the ball rolls against the bat or the ball hits the bat and the umpire judges it was unintentional the ball is fair and live.

However if the bunted ball is fair and the batter drops or throws the bat and the bat hits the ball then the ball is dead and the batter is out.

Basically the ruling is this on a fair ball:
Ball hits or rest against bat is a fair and live ball.
Bat hits ball, ball is dead and batter is out for hitting ball second time.
